The Ministry of Tourism proposes to the Cabinet to extend the visa-free period for visitors from over 50 countries from 30 to 60 days.

In the initial stage of extending the stay in Thailand, predominantly tourists from European and CIS countries will be eligible.

This measure will contribute to the further development of the tourism industry. The Minister of Tourism, Sudawan Wangsufak, told journalists that visitors from Europe constitute approximately 20% of foreign tourists in Thailand. Last year, Europeans spent an average of 18 days in Thailand, with an expenditure of around 66,000 baht per trip.

This year, the expenses of European visitors show a growing trend, reaching approximately 80,000 baht per trip.

In September, citizens of China and Kazakhstan received a 30-day visa-free period, and in November, citizens of Taiwan and India. Starting from November 1st, Russian citizens can enjoy a 90-day visa-free period.
