
The Phuket Immigration has shared the results of the Crime Free Phuket campaign.
According to the provided report, 5,597 visa checks were conducted among foreigners throughout the year.
As a result of violations of immigration laws, 188 individuals were arrested, including 66 for overstaying their visas and 11 for breaches of the foreign labor law.
The leading nationalities subject to immigration checks were Russian citizens (1,166 cases), followed by Myanmar citizens (931 cases), and Chinese citizens (542 cases).
The total number of foreigners on the island stands at 31,222, with 30% (9,650) being Russian citizens.
Additionally, statistics on the most popular types of visas among foreigners on the island were presented as follows:
Student visas - 7,343.
Work visas - 7,314.
Retirement visas - 4,722.
Tourist visas - 3,143.
Family visas - 2,385.
